The purpose  is to inspect ship hull of damage, any organic build up in lieu to dry dock inspection

In water survey can find weld cracks prior to painting

In water survey to save time during dry dock

 

Requirement for inwater survey

• 1. Calm weather 
  2. Warm seawater
  3. At anchorage
  4. Enough draft, watier surface
  5. Ship at even keel
  6. Suitable equipment, skilled divers
  7. Machinery valve to outside close, seasuction and ob closed
  8. Propeller and rudder action isolated
  9. Ample time

Procedure

• 1. 1. Meeting of participant and coordination
     2. Notify all personal and notice
     3. In water survey permit obtain
     4. Entire hull and fitting to be surveyed
     5. Load line, propeller, rudder, cathodic protection, checked.
     6. Hull condition and fouling condition
     7. Surveyor provide report.
