On behalf of MPA, we would like to spread awareness on various support schemes. The following message was sent to the Webinar participants.
Dear all,
Thank you for joining us at the briefing sessions last week and for expressing your interest in the Sea Transport Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) and Place and Train (PnT) Programme. In gist, the initiative seeks to help mid-careerists to move from i) non-maritime to maritime sector, or ii) different job roles within the maritime sector, by supporting employers to develop structured training programmes (i.e. a mixture of classroom and on-the-job training with learning outcomes tied to the specific job role). Qualifying conversion programmes stand to receive 70-90% salary support (subject to a cap) for up to 6 months.
The nature of PCP and PnT programmes are largely the same and the difference lies in the type of jobs covered – PCP is targeted at PMET jobs while PnT is targeted at Rank-and-File jobs. This also explains the difference in support caps for the two programmes.
More details could be found in the attached deck of slides and factsheets. If you would like to speak with someone to find out more, please feel free to contact representatives from WSG and Singapore Polytechnic (the programme manager for Sea Transport PCP).
Have a great week ahead! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Jason Ho
